The Many Faces of Addy

Anyone who has met Addy knows that she can pull the funniest faces. I am always getting comments on the types of faces she pulls. My amazing sister captured many of the faces Addy pulls when she was taking her pictures on her birthday. These are not all the faces she is capable of pulling, but it give you a good idea of what we get to enjoy each day!!

ONE!!

I can't believe my baby has turned one. It just seems like yesterday that I was bouncing on an exercise ball, eating spicy foods, doing lunges and running/waddling up and down three flights of stairs just so I could meet my sweet girl.  This last year has been so fun with Addyson. It is amazing to watch how fast she picks up on things. At times I want my little baby back, but she is getting to be so much fun to interact and play with.

Birthday Girl

We had a little party for Addy on Sunday with most her grandparents and a few aunts and uncles. Of course, she would of been happy to have the wrapping paper as the actual gift, but with a lot of encouragement and some help from her cousins, she finally made it to the toys.

 I wasn't sure how Addy would approach her cake. All she need was one taste of the frosting to know that getting her hands dirty was a small sacrifice for the big sugar rush she experienced.

She first had to remove all the spots on the ladybug

Now with the spots removed, she was able to dig into the cake (it was quite the process)

I am so grateful for all those family members who made the time to be with Addy on her birthday. Addy loved all the attention!!

Here are the things Addy can say at one year old:
Ma Ma- Mom
Da da- Dad
Mo- more
Pa pa- grandpa
Blah ma (can't quite figure out what she is saying for the first syllable, but it sure sounds like "blah")- grandma
Ba- ball
Uh oh

A few things Addyson has learned and loves to do:

• Waves when we ask if she wants to go outside
• Loves to swing at grandma's and grandpa's house and stands underneath it screaming until someone comes to put her in
• Loves throwing balls (and rocks)
• Loves the water
• Finds whatever comb or brush she can and "combs" the few hairs she has on her head
• "Talks" to anybody and everybody she can
• Barks whenever she hears or sees a puppy
• Throws all the food off her tray when she is ready for something else or is done eating
• Favorite foods are any type of vegetable, cheese, macaroni and cheese, jam sandwiches, grapes and watermelon.

Grandpa Burch

My Grandpa Burch passed away last Tuesday.  I am so glad I was able to live close by him and my grandma for a few years. He was a great man who accomplished so many great things in his life. While I was sitting at his funeral, I thought to myself, "If I died tomorrow, what would people say about me." It was kind of a scary question for me, and it made me want to be a better person. I will miss him so much, but I know he is finally free from the pain he had experienced for so long.

Fun at Grandmas!!

A couple of weeks ago, all the grandkids gathered at my mom and dad's house to spend some time together.  My mom always has so many fun activities for the kids to do.  Tie dying was on the list of things to do this time. I love this picture!! It was quite the chore trying to get all the kids to look in the same direction....this is the best we could do!!

Addy is walking!

We are going to ignore the fact that Addy first walked to my sister Carrie and that Toph was not there to see it. We like to pretend that this was her first time walking!

This girl has some moves

Addy loves to dance; and she is a very good dancer in my unbiased opinion. She is slowly incorporating more and more dance moves such as the knee bend and head bob.  She will dance to anything that has a beat. For instance, she is dancing right now as Toph is hammering a nail in the wall.  When she sees the camera, she usually stops dancing and heads straight for the camera, so Toph had to kind of hide for the first part of the video.

  We sure love her!!


Side note: Addy likes to intentionally hit her head on things and then whine about it (I think she takes after Toph with that one)

Sunny St George

Yesterday was a warm and sunny day so Toph and I decided to take Addy for a swim.  Addy loved the water! Toph's phone.....not so much.  The phone did not survive the brief swim it took when Toph got in the water before he realized it was in his pocket.

Addy and I have really enjoyed the warm weather since we moved here. Toph enjoys this warm weather when he is not working construction.
