Bad Combination

There are some combinations that are never a good thing. Here is an example.....

Take this horrible insect:

Put the two together to get this very itchy, red forehead:

As if that isn't bad enough, let's add one more thing to the combination:

One Year Pictures

I guess it is time to post Addy's one year pictures. My sister Aimee took these and I love them. I couldn't get all of them to upload, but this gives you a good idea of how cute Addy is!

I also got some pictures in her birthday outfit. Thanks to Toph's cousin, Whitney, for taking these cute pictures.

Boating

Addy went boating for the first time a few weeks ago. She just wanted to get in the water, but when her toes touched the chilly water, she wanted out.

She had a fun time waving at the person being pulled behind the boat.

Thanks to the Barnetts for taking us boating! It was so much fun!!

True Love

Addy likes my parent's dog, Mooch.  She likes to step on him, poke his eyes, pull his tail, pull his legs, poke his nose, take his food while he is trying to eat it.....She likes him.  Mooch, on the other hand, is not so much a fan of Addy. 

Mooch is getting very old and only moves when absolutely necessary. Addy gives Mooch the motivation to move every time she shows her "love" for him. In the above picture, he is actually trying to stand up to get out of Addy's way. It takes him a few tries to get up.

In the last few months, Addy has found another way to show her love for Mooch; she gives him things. Many nights, I find presents in Mooch's dog bed that Addy has kindly left for him. 

  

The other night, I was trying to find Addy's binkie so I could get her in bed.  I searched and searched, but found no binky. After searching for a good ten minutes, I came upon this:

If you are having a hard time seeing the gift Addy left Mooch, here is the picture zoomed in.

Addy does not give her binky to just anyone. Mooch better consider himself one lucky dog to receive such a gift.

Gratitude

As I was sitting at my parents house today thinking about all the things that have not gone the way I had hoped them to go, I looked at my happy little girl running around amd realized that I still have so much to be grateful for. I have the most beautiful little girl who gives me kisses and smiles when I need them (which is a lot lately). She keeps me going and helps me appreciate the little things in life. I have the gospel of Jesus Christ which gives me hope and happiness even though my trials seem to be insurmountable at the time. I know Heavenly Father knows me and loves me. This knowledge helps me get out of bed some mornings when all I really want to do is lay there and cry. I have my siblings, especially my two sisters, who have given me more support and love that I deserve. I have the absolute most amazing parents I could ever ask for. They are so wise and they give me counsel and encouragement every day. It is the most amazing feeling knowing that so many people are praying for me and care about me.
My sister read me this quote a few weeks ago and then she posted it on her blog. I hope she doesn't mind me stealing it:

The Many Faces of Addy

Anyone who has met Addy knows that she can pull the funniest faces. I am always getting comments on the types of faces she pulls. My amazing sister captured many of the faces Addy pulls when she was taking her pictures on her birthday. These are not all the faces she is capable of pulling, but it give you a good idea of what we get to enjoy each day!!

ONE!!

I can't believe my baby has turned one. It just seems like yesterday that I was bouncing on an exercise ball, eating spicy foods, doing lunges and running/waddling up and down three flights of stairs just so I could meet my sweet girl.  This last year has been so fun with Addyson. It is amazing to watch how fast she picks up on things. At times I want my little baby back, but she is getting to be so much fun to interact and play with.

Birthday Girl

We had a little party for Addy on Sunday with most her grandparents and a few aunts and uncles. Of course, she would of been happy to have the wrapping paper as the actual gift, but with a lot of encouragement and some help from her cousins, she finally made it to the toys.

 I wasn't sure how Addy would approach her cake. All she need was one taste of the frosting to know that getting her hands dirty was a small sacrifice for the big sugar rush she experienced.

She first had to remove all the spots on the ladybug

Now with the spots removed, she was able to dig into the cake (it was quite the process)

I am so grateful for all those family members who made the time to be with Addy on her birthday. Addy loved all the attention!!

Here are the things Addy can say at one year old:
Ma Ma- Mom

Blah ma (can't quite figure out what she is saying for the first syllable, but it sure sounds like "blah")- grandma

A few things Addyson has learned and loves to do:

• Waves when we ask if she wants to go outside
• Loves to swing at grandma's and grandpa's house and stands underneath it screaming until someone comes to put her in
• Loves throwing balls (and rocks)
• Loves the water
• Finds whatever comb or brush she can and "combs" the few hairs she has on her head
• "Talks" to anybody and everybody she can
• Barks whenever she hears or sees a puppy
• Throws all the food off her tray when she is ready for something else or is done eating
• Favorite foods are any type of vegetable, cheese, macaroni and cheese, jam sandwiches, grapes and watermelon.
